Usage: Cesium fluoride is a good base salt in organic chemistry, mainly due to its weak nucleophilicity towards fluoride ions. In addition, due to its suitability for removing silicon protecting groups, cesium fluoride can react with tetrahydrofuran or dimethylformamide to convert many organic silicon compounds into organic silicon fluoride compounds and a carbon negative ion. Cesium fluoride is also an important raw material for introducing fluorine into organic compounds.
